Host plant : Polyphagous.
Mainly found in deciduous forests, especially oak woods and woodland edges.
The larvae develop in dry twigs and branches high in the crown of trees.
Recorded host plants : Alnus sp., Betula sp., Carpinus betulus, Castanea sp., Corylus sp., Fagus sp., Juglans sp., Morus alba, Ostrya sp., Quercus sp., Salix sp., Tilia sp. and Ulmus sp.
