Body length : 8-12mm.
Mainly found in dry, open habitats, such as sandy grasslands, heathlands, coastal dunes.
Usually under stones, in the leaf litter or within the soil surface.
The larvae are also predatory and feed on small invertebrates living in the soil or leaf litter.
