Carl Linnaeus –
1758

Body length : 10-20mm.

Host plant : Oligophagous on conifers.

Found in coniferous forests, especially pine and spruce forests.

The larvae develop under the bark and in the sapwood of dead or weakened conifers, such as Pinus sp., Picea sp., Abies sp. and Larix sp.

Larval development in deciduous trees appears to be exceptional.
