Host plant : Salicaceae.
Found in moist deciduous woodlands, riverbanks, wet lowland habitats with old willows and poplars.
The larvae develop in weakened or dead wood, mainly at the base of the trunk.
Recorded host plants : Mainly on Populus sp. and Salix sp. but also on Alnus sp. and Betula sp.
