Body length : 8-10mm.
Found in moist to moderately dry soils, such as woodlands, forest edges, heathlands, moorlands and grasslands on sandy or acidic soils.
The larvae are predatory and living in the leaf litter, under moss, stones and decaying wood, mainly feeding on springtails.
